"Paper" is a word in LAW AND LEGAL, ENGLISH
A written or printed document or Instrument, A document filed or intro-duced in evidence in a suit at law, as, ia the phrase “papers in the case” and in “pa-pers on appeal.” Any writing or printed document, including letters, memoranda, legal or business documents, and books of account, as in the constitutional provision which protects the people from unreason-able searches and seizures in respect to their “papers” as well as thelr houses and per-sons. A written or printed evidence of debt, particularly a promissory note or a bill of exchange, as ln the phrases “accommoda-tion paper” and “commercial paper.”
