"Lamp" is a word in ENGLISH
A light-producing vessel, instrument or apparatus;
especially, a vessel with a wick used for the combustion of oil or
other inflammable liquid, for the purpose of producing artificial
light.
A device or mechanism for producing light by electricity. See

A thin plate or lamina.
Figuratively, anything which enlightens intellectually or
morally; anything regarded metaphorically a performing the uses of a
lamp.
Akin to the idea that time is money is the concept, less spoken but as commonly assumed, that we may be adequately represented by money. The giving of money has thus become our characteristic virtue. But to give is not to do. The money is given in lieu of action, thought, care, time.
