pangásì - An intoxicating drink prepared
from rice, rice-beer. The pangásì is usually
sipped by means of a small tube and served
only on special occasions as at a marriagefeast, etc. Superstitious practitioners
(babáylan) use the pangásì at their yearly
assemblies near their "sacred places” called
by them the "halígi sang kalibútan”.
