"Homophonous" is a word in ENGLISH
Originally, sounding alike; of the same pitch;
unisonous; monodic.
Expressing the same sound by a different combination
of letters; as, bay and bey.
Now used for plain harmony, note against note, as
opposed to polyphonic harmony, in which the several parts move
independently, each with its own melody.
How can a man’s candour be seen in all its lustre unless he has a few failings to talk of? But he had an agreeable confidence that his faults were all of a generous kind—impetuous, arm-blooded, leonine; never crawling, crafty, reptilian.
