To infatuate; to make foolish.
One who counterfeits folly; a professional jester or buffoon;
a retainer formerly kept to make sport, dressed fantastically in
motley, with ridiculous accouterments.
One who acts contrary to moral and religious wisdom; a wicked
person.
A compound of gooseberries scalded and crushed, with cream;
-- commonly called gooseberry fool.
The idea was that you could grow a system like the Internet one network at a time and then interconnect them. In some sense, the most important thing was the invention of the architecture protocols that enabled the Internet.
