"Enthymeme" is a word in ENGLISH
An argument consisting of only two propositions, an
antecedent and consequent deduced from it; a syllogism with one premise
omitted; as, We are dependent; therefore we should be humble. Here the
major proposition is suppressed. The complete syllogism would be,
Dependent creatures should be humble; we are dependent creatures;
therefore we should be humble.
Despite my firm convictions, I have always been a man who tries to face facts, and to accept the reality of life as new experience and new knowledge unfolds. I have always kept an open mind, a flexibility that must go hand in hand with every form of the intelligent search for truth.
