"Dumpling" is a word in ENGLISH
A roundish mass of dough boiled in soup, or as a sort of
pudding; often, a cover of paste inclosing an apple or other fruit, and
boiled or baked; as, an apple dumpling.
The space and light up there in Norfolk is wonderfully peaceful. I find myself doing funny things like gardening, and cooking, which I rarely do in London.
