"Denounce" is a word in LAW AND LEGAL, ENGLISH
An act or thing is “de-nounced” when the law declares it a crime and prescribes a punishment for it. State v. De Hart, 109 La. 370, 33 South. 605. The word is also used (not technically but popu-larly) as the equivalent of “accuse” or “ln-form against”
To point out as deserving of reprehension or
punishment, etc.; to accuse in a threatening manner; to invoke censure
upon; to stigmatize.
To proclaim in a threatening manner; to threaten by
some outward sign or expression.
To make known in a solemn or official manner; to
declare; to proclaim (especially an evil).
Almost anything carried to its logical extreme becomes depressing if not carcinogenic.
