and lay bodies; esp., an ecclesiastical dignitary, subordinate to a
bishop.
The head or presiding officer in the faculty of some colleges
or universities.
The collegiate officer in the universities of Oxford and
Cambridge, England, who, besides other duties, has regard to the moral
condition of the college.
Achieving the state of SABLE is not, as many people who live with these knitters believe, a reason to stop buying yarn, but for the knitter it is an indication to write a will, bequeathing the stash to an appropriate heir.
